Miele - Will never buy Miele again

When I first used my new Miele W4800 washer on my dirty coveralls a few years ago, it became obvious that there wasn't enough water going into the machine to clean the clothes, only enough to wet them. I was told this is normal.

The local dealer was kind enough to give me a copy of the computer codes. One can access the programming through use of the panel buttons. I phoned Miele Customer Care to ask them a technical question about raising the water levels but first had to go through the "Is the machine plugged in?" "Are you using too much soap - too little soap?" "Are you using the right cycle?" nonsense. Finally I insisted on talking to a superviser who stonewalled me every chance she got.

She was very unfriendly and unco-operative and eventually said she would direct me to the technical dept. which was a phone answering machine. I never got a call back even though I called a few times.

And now the Miele T9800 dryer fan impeller has exploded and the fan housing has *** in it.

I ordered and received a new impeller from Miele and I have noticed that the flimsy old plastic impeller has been replaced by one that looks like it's made of stronger plastic.

Like others here, I paid a big premium price expecting Cadillac quality, service and care but I'm very disappointed. Never again.

I am on our 4th impeller dryer fan in 5 years. Why would any company build a fan out of plastic that will warp when exposed to high heat.

I also had no luck climbing the chain to reach someone who actually was willing to stand behind there product. I would not recommend a Miele dryer to anyone.....stay as far away from this piece of *** as possible. P.S.

I clicked on the *** by accident and it changed the count to 5 - I was unable to retract my accidental click. I definitely know first hand this poster is not ***

Dishwasher part poor customer service

checked miele website to find part number for broken soap dispenser door. No manual for my model G2181. Called 1800# and was told that my wait time to customer service connect was one minute. 14 minutes later was connected to someone who immediately told me my model number didn't exist and he would pass me on. 12 minutes later was connected to another rep and was told the 2181 did not have a manual. He needed another cs rep. 3 mins later he found a "similar" model. Part for the 4" door? $86. Shipping? $17. And if I'm dissatisfied i can CALL a different 800# and wait on the line again. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I have dealt with subzero Canada in the past and not only are their cs reps ACTUALLY service oriented & they will ship to dealers so costs are lower. Lesson? Never buy a product from a company with *** customer service. EVERYONE is nice in sell cycle - it's the service that is important.

we bought a Miele dishwasher 4 years ago and in 2 years it needed repair which was covered by the quarantee. This year it needed repair again!!!! and the cost to substitute the electronic devise is 350euros plus 70 euros the charge for the technician, a total of 420 euros to repair a 4 year top quality dishwasher....with the same amount I bought a brand new dishwasher!!!!! It is a shame that they dare charging this amount plus 70 euros for the technician ESPECIALLY when the brand is on the top 5 most expensive brands sold at least in Greece. Do not buy MIELE products.

Miele coffee machine - poor quality

Had Miele build-in coffee machine installed 2 years ago. Got broken about two months after installed. Was fixed under warranty. Got broken again last week. Warranty expired - so called authorized repair company. Guy charged $105 just to show up. After 15 minutes looking at the machine he quoted $1011 to fix it. I told him to forget it, don't want to spent $1011 to fix it now and wait when it gets broken for the third time. On the other hand - I have Saeco Espresso machine in the office and DeLonghi countertop Espresso machine at home for many years, much better tasting coffee and never break. If you value your money, do not ever buy anything with Miele tag on it, go for better (and at same time cheaper) brands.

DON'T BUY FROM MIELE RIP OFFS $20k

Where do I begin. I purchased a dishwasher, rangehood, cooktop, x2 ovens, microwave (They provided wrong one and size) and coffee machine. After only one month my coffee machine failed to work at all. I think in total I have now placed over 10 call outs for the new one to be consistently fixed:( Dishwasher has been faulty only three times for this one oh and by the way they had to replace microwave twice, hotplate is is five burner but only four work. Fingers crossed my two ovens are ok and the rangehood. I think this number is very poor out of seven appliances. So anyone looking at Miele appliances DON'T. Oh and another thing even the service people don't even know what there doing when there called out. THIS COMPANY IS A JOKE

we to have spent more for repairs than cost of built in coffee machine always using the Miele service technicians dispatched by Miele. It quit working finally they sent there own rep up she admitted it was not worth it and that it had problems from the beginning. As well their authorized repair people screwed up

Rip off parts

I have a Miele dishwasher G868. It's never worked great, and now the soap dish (cheap plastic) broke. I tried to order a new one and Miele Canada quoted a ridiculous $250 - just the part - no install. I'm putting my Miele in the garbage and never buying this brand again. Rip-off! miele washing up machine motor fails 7 years after purcse, less the halfway through its official life expectancy as put by Mielae. The guarantee expired under 2 years ago. this was one of the most expensive machine on the market at the time. In deciding to buy it we relied on Miele's reputation for producing machines which lasted coupled with good follow up service.

The mile official to whom we spoke about this appeared to be totally disinterested. H refused to discuss replacement of the motor or even

discuss a discount on new one.

Poor back up service

We have bought a dishwasher cooker combi oven cooktop and a washer/ dryer. We have paid thousands for what we were led to believe according to Miele credo forever better. We thought we had bought the Rolls Royce of appliances. Our washer/dryer has stopped working after less than 3 years, we expected at least 10 years trouble free useage, we have contacted Miele and they tell us it will take upto 2 1/2 weeks to get a technician to us that is not acceptable from a company with a motto of forever better. It is very poor of Miele service department. To expect to get return customers and to also recommend your products when first of all they break down and then you can not fix them for upto 2 1/2 weeks. I would like you to contact your subsidiary or franchise in Australia and get them to come and repair or exchange our appliance as soon as possible. I must also say that the people who run the showroom in Stirling Highway Perth to be of the highest quality where we bought the appliances from. It is your customer service that is not up to the standard we expect from a German company We live at 2/17 Weston Avenue South Perth Western Australia

I'm with you on this one. I accepted an extended warranty promotion from Miele, just as a percaution as one wouldn't expect a Miele product to have a problem within 4 years.

I phoned Miele service and they booked a service for me, only to call me back after a few minutes to say "they have to cancel my service call as the extended warranty, although taken out with Miele, is covered by an outside company". I was to call them and arrange a service with them.

Here's the amazing part. When I called the given number to book the service, I'm told I SHOULD get a call within 24 Hours to make a booking, but "THEY DON'T ALWAYS CALL YOU,SO HERE IS A NUMBER TO CALL, IF THEY DON'T CALL YOU". Now that sounds really professional!

Expensive service/poor quality washer

We purchased our Miele Touchtronic W4802 about 3 years ago. We have had Miele vaccumms and dishwashers in the past because we have believed it is better to pay up front for quality then have to replace regularly. We will not purchase any more Mieles. We just had a second service call in 3 years. Today we were charged $130 for a new door latch and $130 for Frank's Appliance of Raleigh to replace it. It took him 20-25 minutes! I can go to the Dr for significantly less than they and they have 3 times the overhead! I was told by them "that is what Miele allows them to charge!! Disgusted!

Mr purcell

i own 2 miele hoovers and one at the time 2005 top of the range washing machines,in its day it was the best at 1700euro.the hoovers are great but the washer in recent years the control board led lights have started to fade out and one is gone completely, the machines still works very well and i have never come across a machine that can wash as fast or spin to 1800rpm.i cintacted miele here in ireland and was told that to repair the board if its gone inc 200euro call out fee will be 650euro.now i said no because as i see it thats a quarter the price of a new machine so ill just let it go till its finished.now the machine is still going strong.but as a matter of interest we also have a bosch dishwasher installed 15 odd years ago and no its not made in germany but on a small label says made in eu.that machine was put in 15 years ago or more its never had to be fixed never had to come out... now where i work buy bosch angle grinders for the work we do and bosch now get them made in china and would you believe the made in china by bosch never ever give any trouble considering there abused the whole time.is miele worth it,,,,i dont think so,question mite be if the machine says its made in germany is every single part german or only the main parts and then its the tech bits are china and they may be why they fail....would i buy another miele washing machine...no.for the money you would have to get 20yrs problem free use from it and you wont.

Horrible customer service and moldy dishwasher

We had a dishwasher installed 7 months ago. Since almost day 1, it emitted a foul odor and it got to the point where our dishes came out smelling like a moldy wet dog.

I called for technical support several times and was basically blown off, told I needed to use less soap, clean it with their brand name dishwasher refresher and leave the door open at all times to air it out. Ridiculous! But, I did all of it and the smell persisted. The door was only closed when I ran a load overnight, and we would wake up to a musty foul smelling washer again.

I've even tried different soaps and rinse aids. I've been cleaning the food trap every 1-2 weeks (instead of every 2-3 months like they say)and last night I discovered that it was full of mold. Disgusting. Called Miele again today and was told it's my fault because I'm not maintaining the dishwasher properly.

What the heck else do they expect me to do?!

It felt like pulling teeth, but at least I finally got them to send a tech out. We will see how that visit goes...

Cleaning food trap every 2 to 3 weeks.Meat in a warm damp place will stink like *** in less than a day! Clean the trap daily or rinse soiled plates first.

We have the same problem-our Miele dishwasher is 2 1/2 years old and lately smelling like a wet dog. We were told to run the saniwash and after 5 minutes put in 4 cups of vinegar. Still having problems.

Miele - Misleading info, Poor Service, & Poor Quality

I've always bought Siemens products, but became embroiled in the hype that Miele is the best, but of course Quality costs! I was interested in their connectivity & communication between the extraction hoods & hobs. Their website (at the time of writing) clearly stated that the hood model DA 5960W does have this feature, which I also confirmed with them by telephone. During installation it became apparent that the Miele website was totally incorrect and that I had been given bad advice. This was a shame but not the end of the world, and I looked to Miele to help me out of the hole they created. To my surprise, they were not particularly sorry for MY problem, and not at all interested to help. Not only do I have products which do not function as advertised and advised, but I am also out of pocket by £200 for the connectivity add ons which are in effect junk! After several days of arguing, I think that they may now cover this cost, but I have also found a broken part inside the oven as it was unpacked. Buyers beware, their customer service is diabolical and think they're doing you a favour, and their Quality is not as good as they claim. Their price is the only information that can be believed!!

Miele oven

I have 7 Miele appliances in my home approx 5.5 years old. my oven door won't stay closed when baking. It has to be leaned on to stay shut or the light comes on and the temperature falls. Called for service, 200 to walk through the door and parts could be another 80 or 90. the worst part is more than a week before anyone can come. For such expensive appliances they sure have a big demand for service. After 4 years my dryer needed an overhaul, I am very disatisfied with the service wait times and cost of repairs. I will not recommend this brand to anyone. They are not worth the extra cost.

With Miele, the Emporer is wearing NO CLOTHES!

We paid around $4K for the Miele pair of large capacity Washer W4842 and Dryer T9820. I was told they were a great investment and would last 20 years and make our wardrobe look great. Nothing is farther from the truth. These are the 'gifts that keep on giving'. I have to pay a service repair person about $250 per year on average just to come and fix something. There is a week long wait. My dryer stopped working and I found the blower fan bits and parts all throughout the filter. It had been repaired two years after purchased brand new and here I was 3 years later with the same old part causing the problem. The washing machine leaves our clothes all wrinkled and shrunken and often with HOLES in our fine J-Crew cotton t-shirts. They really are PATHETIC washers and dryers. I'm close to GIVING them away to someone who will haul them away and buying a NEW Kenmore or Maytag. I have had those brands at 1/3 of the price of these and had no problems and never needing a service person to our home. How in the world are people still buying these? They are TOTAL LEMONS and I am sorry but the EMPEROR IS WEARING NO CLOTHES..... BECAUSE HIS WASHER AND DRYER SUCK SO BAD. Do NOT buy Miele or you will be sorry in your tattered wrinkled clothing with holes in it. And you will also be a whole lot poorer and frustrated too!
