Verified ReviewerA Cup of Coffee Not Worth of Trouble - Miele Buyer’s Remorse
I recently bought and installed a latest Miele coffee machine, CVA-7840, just about two months old. It makes nice coffees.
But, the good stops here. It is poor in quality, especially considering its price tag (at almost $6,000) and extremely high-maintenance. But the worst part is Mieles customer support. Let me explain.
The machine is extremely high-maintenance - and this is the least painful part of the experience.
The machine keeps rinsing itself, every time you turn it on or shut it off.
And, you cannot adjust how often it does it. The machine would turn itself off automatically after about 5 mins if you dont make another cup and it will rinse. If you turn it back on right after, it will rinse again. I estimate that it uses at least 2/3 of the water in the tank rinsing and less than 1/3 making coffee.
You have to keep adding fresh water and dumping the waste water all the time.
Thats not enough. The machine has internal timers that will force you to perform major cleaning or descaling of different parts of the machine, every month or two for each part. The entire machine will stop functioning if you dont, no matter which part needs cleaning. You need 4 or 5 different types of chemicals or cleaning agents and Miele is the only place you can buy them from.
They are not cheap either, unlike dishwasher soaps from your local store.
And, dont press the cancel button. If you do - perhaps changing your mind right after a selection - the machine will continue to dispense and grind the coffee and dump it promptly. It will not use it for your next cup of coffee.
Now, the worse - poor quality.
The machine was installed at the beginning of this year. From the start, the milk dispensing did not work.
After days of contacting Miele, a local contractor showed up and he tried everything to no avail, until he disassembled the back-panel and found the problem. Two thin copper plates to connect the sensor circuit were not engaged and did not make the contact. The circuit never closes and milk container signal not sent. This is a simple step that was apparently missed in the final assembly of the machine and still passed the testing, if theres one.
As I just said, the machine performs mandatory cleaning on different parts on timers.
After a little over a month of use, it decided to clean the milk pipework (with a special agent). However, it never completes the cleaning and goes right back to the beginning of the cycle and ask you to start again. It happens every time when it reaches to the last 2 mins of the 11-min cycle. The worst part is that this cleaning operation overwhelms the entire operation and stops everything else.
The machine is in this deadlock loop and you cannot get rid of the menu or do anything else, not even getting to the main menu or setup. The machine is practically dead.
The worst - Miele customer service.
I called Miele customer services and talked to multiple agents. They talk to you from their given, standardized manuscripts. After much struggle they scheduled a service call from their Miele-certified local contractor and it would take two weeks before the contractor could come in.
The first contracted service technician showed up and declared he does not service Miele coffee machines. In fact, he never saw a Miele coffee machine nor did he had any training. (You wonder why he took the service call in the first place?)
I called Miele again and they escalated the call with a promise that the next service technician would be a Miele technician, a Miele employee not a contractor. Days later, they called back to inform me that theres no Mieles own technicians in the Washington Metropolitan area and that they had to schedule another contractor.
It would take another two weeks. I am still waiting.
All in while, the $6,000 Miele coffee machine is in a coma and I cannot use it at all.
I pulled my near-10 years old Keurig coffee maker (cost me something like $50-100) back out, which Ive used at least 3 times a day and never cleaned, to sustain my daily coffee craving!
For those of you who are thinking about these expensive Miele machines, be aware. Hope my experience provides you at least one data point of warning and caution.

- Poor quality and extremely poor customer services
Preferred solution: A replacement. They put me on a long, invisible queue.

Verified ReviewerCharged to repair hob that was smashed on arrival
Great appliances but charged to repair hob that was smashed on arrival.
We bought £13300 worth of items from Miele. We put them in storage for a while after they arrived (3-4 months) as our builders weren't ready for them.
When we opened the hob, there was a huge crack in the glass.
The box and the polystyrene encasing the hob were intact so it wasn't possible for the damage to have occurred after delivery.
Admittedly we should have checked the hob when it first arrived but still the manufacturer clearly packaged and shipped an item with a huge crack in it.
We called Miele who are discounting the repair a little bit (depending on how long it takes might be as much as 35% off), but this falls well short of what we would expect from Miele.
Miele made an appointment to send someone to repair the device (2 weeks on from when I called). I took a day off work, during the one hour window where the technician was due to arrive he called me to cancel the appointment saying it will be rescheduled.

Verified Reviewer | South Brunswick, New JerseyBeware of Poor Reliability and Awful Customer Service
I have owned a Miele dishwasher for 9 years and would never buy another one due to reliability issues and extremely poor customer service. Among other things I have had to replace the main control board and soap dispenser.
The vinyl coating on the racks is not very robust and I started experiencing breaks and corrosion problems (in non-contact areas) after 4 years. If you want to buy replacement lower and upper racks Miele charges you over $760!
Recently I had problems with the combination soap/rinse aid dispenser where the rinse aid reservoir was completely dumping with each cycle. I contacted Miele technical support about a replacement dispenser and they gave me part number that could be ordered off their web site. I received the part and installed it, and now neither the soap nor rinse aid was being dispensed.
I called customer service to report a defective part, but they would not authorize a return unless I paid for a certified Miele technician to come out and verify that. I did that and the service technician determined that the part I had received was incorrect (it was for a european model dishwasher). So I forwarded the technician's service report to Miele customer service and explained the issue, however, they refused to accept a return of the part since it had already been installed once. It did not matter to them that it was their own technical support people that wrongly specified the part number I ordered.
It is unbelievable to me that Miele is unwilling to own up to their mistake. Our coffemaker MIELE CM 6160 had a problem with the "brewgroup" - after 10 weeks of usage. The first contact with the company was unsatisfactory, because I wanted a new machine and no repair.
The lady at the hotline referred me to "Service Business Support
Complaints". After some nice mails with Mr. DAKA and one more phone call we were promised that this case would be examined closely.
Easy free return of the machine - and 2 days later we received a brand new coffee maker! HURRAY !!
All in all very pleasant and super fast.
I felt understood and heard, although the warranty details do not forsee such procedure!
MIELE - comfortable and durable! perfect service.

Verified ReviewerDoesn't do what it's supposed to do
The Scout RX3 does not return to the base to charge, just stops when the battery runs out. The APP is useless.
You can't map a house so that certain rooms are cleaned together, even though the Miele person said that could be done. Can't use the APP to even start vacuuming, have to use the remote. The "strips" they give you to put on the floor to stop the Scout from going there are useless. I have to put a barrier around stuff I don't want the Scout to go near.
The return policy is the worst I have ever heard of. Never saw it could not be returned if it had been used.
How do you know if you like the product without using it--osmosis? I will never deal with the company again and will tell anyone I know to avoid them.

Verified Reviewer | Chicago, IllinoisRegional Management hides from 20-year Miele client!
Regional Management hides from 20-year Miele client! We've been long-standing high-end Miele clients.
2 sets of W/D's, 5 vacuums, 2 dishwashers, a Professional Ironing System, and most recently a 3rd dishwasher for our new home build.
In 2018 we purchased the G6875 SCViSF dishwasher (the current version of this model is the G7566 SCViSF). $2500 price in 2018. In 2020 it began stopping mid-cycle with a "Intake valve" error message. Of course, it was out of warranty, but I loved my first Miele and wanted to have this fixed.
A "certified trained technician" conducted the assessment and determined it would require several parts to fix. 30 days & $1278 later, it was "allegedly" fixed.
Sadly this didn't last long. The infamous "Intake Valve" error message would randomly return. We recently sold the home and the new owners reached out regarding the "Intake Valve" error message and who we recommend.
I reached out to the Chicago Exp Center (as directed by the Center Mgr from a prior discussion about our experience) since our vendors are within their territory.
After 2 days on a merry-go-round and sent to the "888" customer service vortex, I was informed no one from the management would be following up with me, nor would there be any resolution from Miele, due to "insufficient" documentation of the events post the $1278 repair.
We purchase "high-end" for quality and service, and not many folks out there want to spend $2500 on a dishwasher, they prefer to spend $600 and replace it every 4-5 years.
The "888" vortex is even worse; it's nothing more than a cue card interrogation and the second you provide an incorrect answer (according to their cue card), the call is ended as there's nothing that can be done.
This is a disgrace for a company that "prides itself on quality and service".
If management can't face a 20-year client, who has spent tens of thousands of dollars on the Miele product line, they have no business being in management.
My experience will continue to be shared in hopes of saving someone else the horrific customer service I've had to endure. BUYER BEWARE & BE GONE!

Verified ReviewerWashing machine delivery and installation
I am deeply disappointed with Mieles handling of my recent washing machine purchase. Despite the initial excitement, the process has been marred by a series of setbacks, and I feel compelled to share my dissatisfaction.
It has taken me over three months to purchase and install a washing machine from Miele, which at the time of me writing this review has still not been delivered.
Unfortunately, what should have been a straightforward transaction has evolved into a prolonged and stressful experience.
The delivery and installation has delayed with no concrete resolution, leaving me without a fully functioning appliance for an extended period.
My frustration peaked when I sought assistance from the customer service team. In total I have spent over 10 hours on the phone with Miele, attempting to resolve the issues and gain clarity on the status of my order. Regrettably, the responses have been inconsistent, and the promised resolutions never materialized. The lack of communication and follow-through has left me feeling helpless and stressed.
Despite expressing my concerns to the complaints team, there is no real resolution to my ongoing problem.
This experience has not only tested my patience but has also eroded my confidence in Mieles commitment to customer satisfaction.
In the future, I hope Miele reevaluates its customer service processes to ensure a smoother experience for customers.
As it stands, my journey with Miele has been far from satisfactory, and I believe it is crucial for others to be aware of the challenges they may encounter when dealing with this company. Especially, being customers paying a premium price

Have experienced the worst service from Miele so called "customer experience team" following a visit from their technician who caused large scratches to our brand new to our kitchen floor. They could not have been less helpful, have been calling and emailing every day for over three weeks and still no resolution - every time they say they will be in touch and I am still waiting for a call.
Simply appalled by their lack of action.
Further more - often when you call their customer service team, you are often put on hold for ages, twice I have been on hold for 45 mins + . To say I am disappointed is an understatement.

Miele - mediocre quality and non-existent customer service!
Had Miele washing machine for about 2 years when its hose developed a leak. The hoses were replaced but now the washer would not intake any water for only god knows what reason (even a professional plumber couldn't solve the problem).
Ended up booking Miele technician's service (which wasn't easy as they don't have many slots open) only for them to cancel last minute.
And the worst part is that the next available day for rescheduling is a week from now! A WEEK, Carl!
So we've been waiting for a technician to come for almost a week now, technician cancelled, and now we have to wait for another week with no ETA in sight on when our washer is going to be fixed.
Miele used to be a good brand...not anymore!
You pay premium prices (about $4 - 5K for a washer/dryer unit) for mediocre quality as well as slow and pretty much non-existent customer service/support!!! Miele - mediocre quality and slow customer service

Verified ReviewerMiele is cheating itself out of warranty
We have about $20K worth of appliances and vacuums from Miele. For most parts they work great.
Bought a robot vacuum from them - never worked properly as I could not program it for the perimeter in the house.
Early on we were in contact tech support about getting this issue addressed. No results - no clue on how to fix from them as not many peo[le shell out $600 for this robot (robot vacuum is re-branded from a company in South Korea). At the time we at least had a technical support team from within the country though. This changed in 2022 - worst call center from abroad, poor language skills no resolution. We requested support multiple times - no results.
We brought it to a Miele shop locally and they worked with a Miele tech, and were told that the warranty is voided as the vacuum fell down two steps. 1. this should not have happened as the unit is suppose to stop when approaching a height difference, and 2. Miele was never able to support this product locally or via help line.
Now am being told that Miele is voiding the warranty due to the fall. Unbelievable. First they provide a products that does not work, than the support line cannot get it fixed, than the vacuum mis-functions due to not being programmed right to than be told that this voided the warranty.
Hoping that someone at Miele reads this. This is not the right way to deal with a client that has purchased $20K Plus.

Simple $0.10 sheet metal screw fixed the Clik Clik Clik Pizzo igninters to stop after gas burner is lit. The reason it fixed the problem is one has to understand how the Miele HR1956 G range oven cooktop seperates from the main body. It is not bolted, but is set on top...

Now August 1 2022, first with the HR1956 Dual Fuel Range Oven/?Electric/Gas Range top &Microwave. Miele Tech suggested I replace the Pizo Igniter Transformer, which I did.
It Did Not Fix the Problem.
Miele thinks it is a Ground and Neutral Wire Issue. However all that...
The High End Dishwasher G6867 Alumina Futura during this time period developed an issue with Flashing Red Light Operation Indicator that there was a problem calling for "Turn On Water Supply" that has never been turned off so it was interrupting the DW operation at time, other times would stop flashing and go on to Solid Red Operation Indication and completer the Normal DW cycles. Worked with Tech support several emails and had DW removed 4 times to inspect and remove two components and returned those back into the DW. Then DW would work as should Normally and then act up but would most of the time continue without interruptions. Never did find out what cause or really fixed the issue.
We just live with it. As for the Duel Fuel Gas Range Oven HR1956 with the Tic Tic Tic Igniters staying on after gas burners were lit. Miele suggested at my expense to replace the Igniter controller. Which we did..
It improved the issue, but it still is not 100% fixed. Because at times will Tic Tic Tic, other times Not. So it's not really fixed either. All this took months, lots and lots of Emails.
Please keep in mind we love our Miele Appliances..but for Brand New Equipment, less than 7 months old placed in service and to have issue from Two of the Three Appliances does not bid well for the Name or Reputation. To get to a Real Tech at Miele took some serious email message to Headquarters in Germany complaining to them about these issues.. They assigned a Support Tech to work with me. Keep in mind we are not in USA, we purchased there but moved out of country to a country where there is no Local support Tech to work on or Miele Tech to work on.
Fortunately my background is a Retired Tech Engineer with skill to do the work myself. However I do not have manuals or technical manuals for the appliances. Miele Tech in USA was kind enough to assist me with that part to try to resolve the issue.. But as mentioned above.
These issues are not completely solved or fixed. But are better than when we started with the problems. I recommend when you purchase High-end Appliances like Miele, you keep the appliances in the same country you purchased to get better service and support.
Our biggest complaint here with Miele is How Slow and Difficult to get Some Kind of Support, being out of the Country we purchased in. Yet, Miele is a worldwide supplier.
Question - would I purchase Miele again? I doubt it.. When you spend $30-40 for three appliances, unless they are on the moon. One expects better service support timely and new equipment should not be failing in the first 12 months.
We purchased Miele, expecting at least 15-20 year free of service replacement or working on the appliances. Hope this will help you in your decision
